Beavercreek defense tech provider taps industry exec to drive growth strategy

by Rowan Hetzer

A Beavercreek technology firm – one of the top defense contractors in the region – has tapped a new executive from a national security nonprofit.

Frontier Technology Inc. (FTI) has named a new chief growth officer (CGO) whose deep experience in logistical defense leadership is expected to be a significant asset to the company.

Matt Salter spent 17 years at Washington, D.C.-based Noblis, a nonprofit science and technology firm that provides engineering and research services to federal agencies, including those within the defense, intelligence, homeland security and law enforcement sectors.

He has served in a variety of leadership roles at Noblis, most recently as vice president and CGO for the last six years.

He now joins FTI as its CGO, effective immediately.

“FTI Defense is delighted to welcome Matt Salter to our senior executive team as Chief Growth Officer,” said Jose Hidalgo, FTI Defense CEO. “Matt’s skills and experience will be instrumental in accelerating the adoption of FTI’s mission-aware, AI-powered technologies and expertise to help our warfighters make faster and better mission decisions and quickly improve critical processes.”

Salter has a bachelor’s degree in history from George Mason University, and completed education programs through Wharton Executive Education, earning certifications in mergers and acquisitions and venture capital.

“I’m excited to help drive the next era of growth for FTI Defense,” Salter said. “FTI Defense’s investments in next-generation, AI-powered technologies and services that accelerate mission critical decisions and drive critical process improvements are perfectly aligned with national security technology needs today: rapid speed to solution, affordable cost, non-disruptiveness to existing systems and scalability.”
